Brugge

On of our excursions was to Brugge. Brugge is founded in Vll / lX century . In the Xlll century the town was world harbor number 1. Unfortunately the small river Zwin choke up with sand in the XV century and Brugge got less important as harbor and trade-center.
The industry of tapestry and lace was one of the real famous trade products of Flanders.
Flanders was in the northern Europe what in Italy was Venice and Florence.
It was called Venice of the North.
My both grand children like to make a trip by a boat and one other tour by horse and carriage.
