olive tree in bloom - Olea eupopaea

Thats the first time my olive tree is coming in bloom. The flowers are very little 4 mm small.
In our region it's not usual to get olives in a tree.

In the same time al my peonies are in bloom.
In Germany we call this flower : Pfingstrosen. Whitsuntide or Pentecost - Pfingsten.

The name of flowers is much easier in latin, given by Carolus Linnaeus, who publish this first in his book Species Plantarum. The double names of 5000 plants was published in 1753.
Yesterday was Carolus Linnaeus 300 anniversary.
He was also the first who gives us the name Homo Sapiens.
